1/probably not 50: Tennessee
Thoughts? This was pretty fun to make, so, up next: Texas, at the request of EL_ULY; vanity plate: “LOL BOOB”
Edit : I don’t know how to print something onto metal or plastic, but I did find !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . If there’s significant interest in this series, I might make these as novelty items and sell them, but if you live in a front plate state, I’m afraid you’re out of luck unless you want one just to have.

Neat idea! Do you plan to do all 50 states? I’m curious what Georgia would look like, although it would probably just be plain white with a peach on it...

You’d need a small part that’s uniform on all the plates that designate it as a North American plate, with a code for the state underneath. You can do whatever you want with the rest of the plate.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 09:06 |

I don’t know of a Tennessee outside of North America, but ok.

I’m trying to incorporate elements of the flag, seal, or recognizable icon that represents the state.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 09:09 |

i had to check...
it’s available :]
![]() 09/22/2015 at 09:09 |

I’ll do it just for you :)
![]() 09/22/2015 at 09:09 |

You should do Michigan and incorporate the Mackinac bridge.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 09:11 |
|
IMO Michigan has a pretty badass flag and that would be easier that the bridge, but we’ll see how it turns out.

I don’t know of a Germany or Spain or France and so on outside of Europe either, yet they all do it that way. You said you wanted plates like the European plates...
German (D=Deutchland):
Spain (E=Espagnol):
France:

Can you do Michigan but with orange barrels on the plate? Feel that really should be the symbol of our state
![]() 09/22/2015 at 09:50 |
|
So there are “USA”-EU plates, for service members and diplomats from the US in the EU.
Note that the symbol above USA is the NATO logo. And that this is the “square” plate to fit US-style plate holes.
So for an EU-style US plate, I think you’re right on track. You get the emblem on the left with the state abbreviation underneath (like Duurtlang’s post) but with whatever colors make sense.
Different EU countries do have some different colors other than black text on white background. The UK, Luxemborg and the Dutch have black on yellow plates.

I could see him going with the French style, where on one side it says “USA” with a US flag or emblem on the left, and on the right a State. But, in the US there are markings (not in all states, but in many) that denote the county/region that the car comes from. If the plate is split like that, we lose the area for the county/region (like what is in the example.)
Wow, I’m taking this too seriously :D

I love this need it for the Disco
![]() 09/22/2015 at 10:12 |

Wouldn’t it be more accurate if the designation was for the United States? Switzerland isn’t part of the EU and its plates don’t have the EU logo:
![]() 09/22/2015 at 10:14 |
|
That would work as well.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 10:16 |

I live in Tennessee.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 10:21 |
|
I’d tell ya to make a “MA55HOLE” one but our plates are kinda boring.

Seen these before, but your design looks better.

Front plate maybe?
![]() 09/22/2015 at 10:30 |
|
Twins! And GBO!
![]() 09/22/2015 at 10:31 |
|
Eh I dunno. Your flag might be pretty cool on a plate.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 10:32 |

I like to think mine is more representative of the state than those. And thanks!
![]() 09/22/2015 at 10:34 |
|
I think the slim design just looks better than the taller ones we have. And thanks for the info!
![]() 09/22/2015 at 10:34 |

Orange barrels?
![]() 09/22/2015 at 10:35 |
|
We are a non-front plate state so this could just be a novelty item
![]() 09/22/2015 at 10:35 |
|
Same
![]() 09/22/2015 at 10:36 |

States : United States :: Countries : European Union, at least for my purposes here.

Can I just shut up and take your money?
![]() 09/22/2015 at 10:39 |
|
If so, I’ll make one with the Davidson county seal rather than Shelby.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 10:43 |
|
I grew up in Memphis and moved to Franklin last year year then bought a house on the outskirts of Murfreesboro.
So I wuold be alright with Shelby county
![]() 09/22/2015 at 10:45 |
|
So Williamson? Or stay Shelby?
![]() 09/22/2015 at 10:53 |
|
I would just stay Shelby, Rutherford County-where I live and Williamson County-where I work don’t feel like home yet to me.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 10:57 |
|
Gotcha. I have no idea how to but I really wanna make this happen.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 11:12 |

kickstarter?
EDM Novelty state/interest based plates ought to sell at least a few I bet you could turn at least a little profit.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 11:14 |
|
No I have no idea how to actually make the product, as in putting the image onto metal or plastic.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 11:47 |

OH DEAR GOD I WANT THIS ON MY CAR
I’m a Tennessean and this is absolutely perfect.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 13:50 |

Where you is?
![]() 09/22/2015 at 14:02 |

Nashville
![]() 09/22/2015 at 14:06 |
|
Ah. If I actually end up selling these or something I could put a Davidson county seal on there instead of Shelby for you.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 14:25 |
|
That would be appreciated. Memphis is butt. lol
![]() 09/22/2015 at 14:41 |

Bring back the blue.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Edit: Dammit Kinja. Let’s see if this one sticks. If not GIS “Michigan blue license plate”.

Construction barrel:
![]() 09/22/2015 at 15:25 |
|
That’s a generally accurate assessment.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 15:26 |

I can see both of the pictures. But it’s a little dull for me.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 15:26 |
|
I feel like this is some sort of inside joke.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 15:40 |

In Michigan, the four seasons are known as Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter, and Construction.
If there’s isn’t snow on the ground, there are orange barrels. And vice versa.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 15:50 |

In Tennessee we alternate between freezing, broiling, and occasionally nice.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 16:13 |
|
How did you design these? Photoshop, I’m assuming? GREAT WORK!
![]() 09/22/2015 at 16:14 |
|
Yep. First one on CS6 (at home), this one on Elements 11 (at school). And thanks!
![]() 09/22/2015 at 16:17 |
|
Nice, you’re welcome.
Which font?
Great for design use, it seems.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 17:40 |

Michigan is pothole/road work capital of the country, orange barrels as far as the eye can see
![]() 09/22/2015 at 19:24 |

State intials, registration sticker, and web address are all in variants of Gotham (which Obama used on his famous “HOPE” posters) and the plate text itself used a free font simply called “License Plate.”
![]() 11/18/2016 at 11:23 |

Any luck ever finding someone to print these?
![]() 11/18/2016 at 14:13 |
|
Yes, but just a quote. Now that I have some money I might actually get to it.
![]() 11/19/2016 at 15:01 |

I am very interested. Especially if you swap in the Davidson or Sumner county seal!
![]() 11/19/2016 at 16:27 |

I originally planned on doing that but it would be a ton of work. I’ll post to OPPO when something actually happens with this. Thanks for your interest!
